Ms. Ellis oversees the short- and long-term DE&I strategy which supports Selective’s core value of inclusion and strategic imperative to build a highly engaged team.

Gloria joined Selective Insurance in 2007 and has held several positions including agency management specialist. In 2014 she was promoted to small business territory manager where she was responsible for implementation and execution of the small business strategy in 7 states, and from 2014-2019 oversaw the small business team issuing almost $100M in new small business. Gloria was promoted to the current role of AVP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Employee Engagement in April, 2021.

Ms. Ellis was recently recognized by Insurance Business America 2021 Hot 100, current National African American Insurance Association of Indiana Board Advisory leader, and immediate-past President of NAAIA of Indiana. Gloria serves on several Indiana state committees focused on increasing awareness, providing scholarships and education for diverse students interested in pursuing insurance and risk management as a career.

Gloria earned a BS in business administration/marketing from Syracuse University/Utica College. She holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Associate of Underwriting (AU) designations.
