Mr. Abeska joined Grant Thornton in 2021. He has worked with the risk, compliance, and controls group as well as its integrity, investigations, and restructuring group. Prior to joining the firm, Joe worked in a variety of risk management, legal, and compliance roles as an intern while completing his law degree.

Currently, his efforts involve both proactive and reactive work in the fraud and financial crimes space. Joe has helped Grant Thornton to develop and fine-tune methodologies for conducting fraud risk assessments, fraud maturity assessments, and fraudtech advisory services. He has also led the day-to-day work on a number of fraud risk engagements in both the insurance and banking sectors with some of those industries’ most well-established and profitable companies.

Mr. Abeska earned a BA, political science, from Michigan State University and was awarded a JD from the University of Dayton School of Law.
