With more than four decades at the forefront of corporate taxation, John Forni has built a distinguished career guiding both US and multinational financial services organizations through the complexities of an ever-evolving tax landscape. As Head of Tax for Zurich North America, a leading global insurance company, John brings a rare combination of strategic vision, technical expertise, and executive leadership to one of the industry’s most demanding disciplines.

Before joining Zurich North America, John served as the national leader of Grant Thornton’s insurance tax practice, where he advised some of the industry’s most prominent organizations. Earlier in his career, John was a partner in the business advisory consulting practice of a Philadelphia-based accounting and consulting firm and held senior tax leadership roles at globally recognized institutions including AIG/Chartis, Merrill Lynch, UBS Warburg, and Bear Stearns.

John earned a BS in accounting and an MBA with a concentration in taxation from St. John’s University. He is a CPA licensed in New York. John is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, SIFM, Federal Bar and ITC.
