Wilhelm – Manager, Tax Legislative Affairs, Grand Thornton Advisors LLC
Colin Wilhelm has 15 years of experience thinking about federal policy, first on Capitol Hill, then as a journalist covering the inner workings of tax and economic policy for multiple outlets prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2023.
Colin has covered the inner workings of Congress, including the House Ways and Means and Senate Finance Committees, as well as the Treasury Department and several regulatory agencies. During his time as a journalist, he broke news around the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the 2020 CARES Act, and the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, along with other legislation and political developments.
Prior to attending journalism school and launching a career as a reporter and editor, Colin was a congressional policy staffer for a since-retired member of the House of Representatives, with a focus on defense, foreign policy and veterans’ affairs.
Colin earned a BA in English and political science from the University of the South. He completed a year-long seminar program on Strategy and War at the Naval War College. Colin was awarded an MS in journalism from Columbia University.
