Andrew Mais has over 25 years of experience in insurance and financial services.  He was formerly the Connecticut Insurance Commissioner and NAIC President. In his current position, he provides risk and regulatory strategy and advisory services to insurance industry stakeholders.

Andrew was also highly active on the national and international regulatory fronts. In December 2024, he completed his term as President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, working with insurance regulators around the country to enhance their collective mission of consumer protection.

As NAIC President, Andrew established and led the association’s 2024 initiative, “Mind the Gap,” a national strategy focused on regulation, innovation, and education to bridge protection gaps for consumers and ensure a stable insurance marketplace.

Internationally, Andrew held a leadership position at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors leading US negotiations to gain agreement on the US Aggregation Method as a basis for comparability for the global Insurance Capital Standards.
