Kate Northway is a communications executive with 15 years of experience specializing in media relations, executive visibility, crisis communications and content strategy. Kate advises companies and CEOs in financial services, technology and healthcare sectors, heling them navigate regulatory scrutiny, market volatility and reputational inflection points.

Prior to her current role, Kate served as senior advisor to the superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services leading communications, employee engagement, media relations and stakeholder management across issues such as digital asset and stablecoin policy, cybersecurity, consumer protection and insurance affordability.

Earlier in her career, she was with Omnicom Group ultimately serving as EVP overseeing corporate communications and business strategy across Omnicom’s public relations and public affairs firms.

Kate holds a BA in women’s studies and communications from Hamilton College and serves on the college’s Alumni Council.

Cory Fritz leads the trade and national security practice within the public affairs group advising clients who are navigating political, regulatory and legal scrutiny related to cross-border matters.

As a member of House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce’s senior staff, he played a key role in shaping policy, strategy and messaging on issues including sanctions, international law, export and licensing policy for munitions, technology, and dual-use technology, and foreign investment.

Cory also served as a spokesman for Speaker of the House John Boehner, where he led messaging and coalition-building efforts for the Speaker on trans-Pacific and trans-Atlantic trade matters, and worked daily with leading national reporters, editors and broadcast producers.

Cory earned a BS in journalism with honors from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.

James Wrynn has more than 40 years of experience as an attorney, regulator, executive, director consultant/advisor and expert witness in the insurance industry.

Jim has been involved in domestic and global insurance regulations, policies and standards as well as assisting clients in developing strategies and programs dealing with regulatory issues, claims administration and analysis, identification of strategic partners, mergers/acquisitions and portfolio transfers, and a variety of other issues in the U.S. and globally.

Formerly, Jim was with FTI Consulting in the Global Insurance Services practice, Guy Carpenter’s Global Strategic Advisory Group, and with Goldberg Segalla.

Prior to those positions, he served as the Superintendent of Insurance in the State of New York. He was very involved in the drafting of the new Financial Services law in New York and the merger of the Insurance Department with the NYS Department of Banking to form the new Department of Financial Services where he served as First Deputy Superintendent.

Jim is admitted to practice law in the federal and state courts of New York and New Jersey, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Jim has served as a registered foreign lawyer in the United Kingdom; and as a director on boards in the US, EU, and Bermuda.

Andrew Mais has over 25 years of experience in insurance and financial services.  He was formerly the Connecticut Insurance Commissioner and NAIC President. In his current position, he provides risk and regulatory strategy and advisory services to insurance industry stakeholders.

Andrew was also highly active on the national and international regulatory fronts. In December 2024, he completed his term as President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, working with insurance regulators around the country to enhance their collective mission of consumer protection.

As NAIC President, Andrew established and led the association’s 2024 initiative, “Mind the Gap,” a national strategy focused on regulation, innovation, and education to bridge protection gaps for consumers and ensure a stable insurance marketplace.

Internationally, Andrew held a leadership position at the International Association of Insurance Supervisors leading US negotiations to gain agreement on the US Aggregation Method as a basis for comparability for the global Insurance Capital Standards.

Francine Semaya is currently a legal consultant in insurance regulation, reinsurance, insurance insolvency and transactional matters. She concentrates her practice in reinsurance, captive insurers (in the US and abroad), insolvency and national and global insurance regulatory matters in the areas of property, casualty, life, annuity, surety and financial guaranty. In addition, she performs legal and compliance audits and serves as an expert witness. Most recently, Francine served as an expert in numerous complex captive and reinsurance arbitrations.

Active in several professional organizations, Francine is a past President of the International Association of Insurance Receivers. She is also a long-time member of the Insurance Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association, where she continues to serve as chair of the annual “Current Issues in Insurance Regulation” program. Francine also serves as the Director of the Insurance Federation of New York.

Francine is a frequent lecturer and has authored numerous articles in both legal and insurance trade publications. She is often called upon to organize and chair seminars and programs of significance to the insurance industry.

David Altmaier has over 14 years with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. As the former top insurance regulator in Florida, David brings deep knowledge of the complex insurance market.

In his capacity as commissioner, he led the Office of Insurance Regulation and had oversight over one of the largest insurance markets in the world. Under David’s leadership, Florida passed a sweeping reform bill aimed at stabilizing the insurance market.

Throughout his tenure as commissioner, David was heavily involved in national and international insurance regulatory policy. He served as the President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) in 2021. David also served as a Vice Chair of the Executive Committee for the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), representing insurance regulators and supervisors of more than 200 jurisdictions worldwide.

David was awarded a BA in mathematics from Western Kentucky.

Mithuna Sivaraman has over 13 years of experience in financial services specializing in tax issues.

Formerly, Mithuna was with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where her practice focused on federal tax controversy and tax planning for multinational corporations, with an emphasis on transfer pricing, tax treaty interpretation, and related international taxation issues.

Prior to Skadden, she was with EY where she concentrated on planning, documentation, audit defense, and competent authority relief through the treaty network to help resolve double taxation and other related disputes.

Mithuna holds a JD from Emory University School of Law, and an BSFS in International Political Economy from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Mithuna is a an attorney licensed in New York and California.

Kelly Guinan is a part of PwC’s Responsible AI group where he helps clients define and implement their enterprise approaches to governing AI technology.

He has more than a decade of experience at PwC, performing and leading engagements related to internal controls, enterprise risk management, and responsible AI risk and control governance across a variety of industries. Most recently, Kelly has led the development of customized attestation products over AI systems as part of PwC’s Assurance for AI program to meet the needs of a variety of third-party stakeholders seeking trust over AI solutions.

Kelly has developed and revised AI development practices to align around a standardized set of risk-based practices and documentation requirements and support a streamlined path to deployment for Generative AI solutions.

Kelly earned a BS in accountancy and information systems 9 magna cum laude) and an MAcc in accountancy both from the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He is a CPA licensed in New York State.

Thanga specializes in large scale finance transformation and integrated risk/finance solutions to modernize and optimize business functions by leveraging cutting-edge tools and technologies.

Thanga earned a MS in computer applications from Anna University, Chennai India.
